  8. Hey . . . that could have been me yesterday . . . I'm feeling much better now. Hope you are too.

And in a twisted way, I want to hear about it, because you always put a funny spin on these things. When the steam's no longer coming out of your ears, please share. :)

  10. Count to ten. Count to twenty. What is going on? If you are awake at midnight, you might as well go to Wal-Mart. They have lots of empty boxes available about then for your packing needs. You are packing still, right?

Global warming makes me mad. Tanning beds make me mad. People who use tanning bads make me mad, I don't know why. It's just so dumb. Thank you for asking.

  12. Nothing went wrong with the Utah house. We just - we found out on Monday morning that we had to be out of our rental house this weekend, which means we spent the day freaking out and making arrangements and plans and reserving things and calling people for help and then as it turns out, the property management company called and JUST KIDDING we don't actually have to be out of the house this weekend after all because the renters fell through.

Which should probably make me relieved, not mad, but hey. I chose mad. I was almost irrationally angry about it and it felt kinda good. Sometimes you just gotta stomp around and post nonsensical things on your blog about it so that you can wake up in the morning and look at it and go, WUH? And then smack yourself in the head.

  13. So you're not so mad anymore? I don't blame you though, I would have been mad too.

I can't think of anything specific right now, but around the second week of each month, EVERYTHING makes me mad.

  15. Chocolate always helps. Maybe when you are in Utah I could bring you some homemade triple chocolate brownies.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Iread the reason. I would be mad too. Idiots make me mad, never mind that I am one at times.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I make sure to spread the mad around. Sort of like jam - spreads real easy and sticks to everything.

    ReplyDelete
  18. How annoying!
I think you should go in to the property management office and give them a stern look.
    And a raspberry.

Or maybe you could give them the dead fish from the sidewalk.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Did my children come and trash your house, too? Because they did mine, and I am feeling your pain.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Accidental deletions make me MAD. Blog posts, e-mails, work documents... magic keystrokes that I don't even know suddenly making it disappear. I'm glad your MAD is working itself out though.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Getting peed on.

Sure, it's like a rite of passage when you have a newborn but a preschooler? That's just wrong!

  22. gas and toll prices that just keep going up and up, the weekly grocery bill that's $50 more than it was a year ago due to ricing food prices, the never-ending shelling out of money for everything else leaving nothing for splurges and fun surprises, and how many times I have to tell my kids, "I'm sorry, we dont' have money for that this month" GRRR

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am furious with my effing M and FIL for playing favorites with the grandkids and breaking my little girls hearts.

    Just sick with the anger.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Blah... I would be mad about the "just kidding!" as well!

    ReplyDelete
  25. This makes me mad:

Babies waking up at 5:00 am and then the next night waking up ten times for who know what reason and then not even having the decency to sleep in at all.

Being tired makes me mad. REALLY mad.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh girl!!! I was so worried that something had happened w/ your UT house....the 'just kidding' thing is so totally NOT funny....there should probably be sort of financial compensation for your stress, effort and time b/c of their little booboo.....

Glad everything is still ok!!! ;)

  27. I'm glad it was nothing with ugly consequences. What makes me mad? Things breaking down after you have paid good money for them and expected them to work for longer than it takes to get them home. And dealing with companies that put you through five levels of computerized "customer service" only to end up that the beginning of the loop again, with no answer to the problem, or be told,"Oh, we don't handle that here. Let me transfer you," and then either having the line go dead or beginning a new chain of computer chit-chat. Just once I would love to have someone say: "Sure, we can help you with that right now" and then actually have them do it.

  28. Great question...usually the little things.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Mice make me mad. I HATE when I can hear them. I'm actually more mad at them than I am scared of them. I just get FURIOUS when I hear the dirty rodents scratching.

Sue - glad you were able to vent and give us all a chance to! And I'm also glad that it's something relatively small that has worked itself out.

I don't like it when things don't make sense and it seems like there is a very common sense easy answer that would have been just as simple - maybe even easier than the solution that was chosen.

    It always gets me going.

Oh - and at the moment I could completely go the rest of my life and never see another tick again - but that's another story and probably not likely to happen anyway.

I'm glad though that you DON'T have to be out so quickly and have a little more time to get things together.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I only get mad when I'm pre-menstrual, and then I'm mad ALL THE TIME. I wake up in the middle of the night MAD.
So you're a bit ticked, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Do you mean mad as in angry, or mad as in crazy? Because if you meant crazy than this whole post takes on a completely different meaning:

Oooooooh, I'm so crazy right now.

    SO. VERY. CRAZY.

SO VERY VERY VERY VERY CRAZY.

Are you getting that I'm CRAZY?

    Good.

    (BECAUSE I AM.)

    (CRAZY, I mean.)

    So very very crazy.

    See what I mean?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nicki, that was hilarious. And also true. It works on so many levels.

    ReplyDelete
  34. well...ok then, I hope you come back and tell us WHY you are so very very mad.
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. um, nevermind, just read comments...glad you are better. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was crazy furious yesterday, as I lived through another episode of "So You Married a Social Moron."

And in spite of my fake gastric bypass (which had been working out so well, actually), I ATE a lot. Of yummy crap. And then I wasn't angry anymore. Hagan-daz Pistachio Ice Cream = my mood altering drug. I strongly recommend it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. umm, taxes and having to pay too much of them and then next would be car trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Whew! For a minute there I thought you were mad at me!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Read the comments. That would make me mad too. I hate it when I am running around breaking my butt because of someone else and then something like that happens. Yup, that would have made me mad.
My husband makes me mad. Sometimes.
My kids make me mad. Sometimes.
Stupid people who don't do their job make me mad pretty much everytime.
Rude people made me mad a lot.
Bush makes me mad all the time.

  40. Did you feel better after writing this?

    ReplyDelete
  41. You have no clue who I am, but I want you to know I've been reading some of your older posts and laughing out loud. Not laughing in my head, but seriously laughing out loud- like a nervous giggle you would get at a funeral. You've got talent. You should write for a newspaper or a magazine. I hope you don't feel like I'm a stalker, but I will definatly keep coming back!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ouchie! Talk about stressful!

I am made at me. Because I'm a dipwad. That's a whole other story though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. What makes me mad is to be stuck in gridlocked traffic due to an accident miles ahead, in 110 degree heat in my black leather interior both acting as a solar cooker AND making me a candidate for a skin graft on the backs of my thighs, and a car that is acting up and on the verge of overheating and so the A.C. has to get turned off, and so I'm sweating like a farm animal, and my toddler is whining about his poopy diaper, and the guy in front of me isn't paying attention and doesn't move when he can, and I just want to get some water, goshdarnit, but I can't because Wendy's is a mile away still, and I'm running behind and will be late meeting my husband for dinner, but can't call him because the cell phone is down to one bar and will surely cut out.

THAT is what makes me mad.

    Feel any better?

    ReplyDelete
  44. That you can write a post this short and get 45 comments.

    That MAKES me MAD!

    Just kidding.

Seriously? Having a bad day or something.

    I COULDN'T TELL!

    Things that make me mad:

When you are mad and try to slam a door, but it has those hinges that don't let the door slam, and after all that effort all that happens is a little *swoosh* and the door slowly closes and you are completely UNsatisfied.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Stupid phone calls of people trying to make something our fault when it's really a system we don't support and once the users are able to log into their system we have nothing to do with it, yet they keep sending users to us because they've fouled something up but keep saying that "everything looks okay on our end". That makes me mad.

I hope you get not mad soon. And I hope the stupid people down their fix their damn problem.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maddison2:38 PM

Yes, good question. Unfortunately, maybe too much makes me mad. But the maddest? When my husband makes decisions regarding our children that I disagree wholeheartedly about and just overrides me because "he can." Oooh, that REALLY makes me mad, not being able to have control over what they watch, wear, say, do, etc. It really makes me mad when a certain someone in my life causes the problems they do on an all too regular basis that have difficult and lasting effects on my life b/c I am made to pick up the pieces, not to mention that this just shouldn't even be happening AT ALL!

Was that too serious?? I really could go on and on, but I'll spare y'all.

Glad to hear that everything worked out and glad it wasn't a backwards move on the house!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous5:30 PM

Maddison, how can your husband override you? Aren't you partners? Your statement makes me worry.

    ReplyDelete
  49. What makes me mad? Oh, honey, you don't want to know. Pretty much everything right now. But we'll both get over it.

    __hugs__

  50. You should channel all that energy being mad and forge ahead with getting ready to move anyway. Don't you want to get back to Utah and your home ASAP? Besides, it's at least 10 degrees cooler here right now.

The other day we went to pick up our son from a birthday party at a park. We were all in the car (husband who's on crutches from foot surgery, me feeling sick that day, 8 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old.) It was 98 degrees outside so we had the A/C going full blast in the car. We sent my daughter to get my son and she left and -- never came back. We could barely see traces of the party still going on way on the other side of the park, and as the minutes ticked on I started a rant:

"Where is he? Where is she? Why aren't they coming? What is going on!? IF YOU ARE GOING TO TELL SOMEONE TO PICK UP THEIR KID AT 6 PM AT A PARK IN 98 DEGREE HEAT, YOU'D BETTER HAVE THE KID STANDING BY THE PARKING LOT BY 6 PM AND NO LATER! WHAT KIND OF ADULT LETS A PARTY GO OVERTIME AND DOESN'T MAKE SURE THE KIDS WATCH FOR THEIR PARENTS!!"

About ten minutes later the kids finally made their appearance and my daughter explained that she'd been *trying* to get my son to come and my son explained that he just wanted a turn to bat the pinata -- and *we* explained that when your sister comes to get you and your family's waiting in the car, you come right then whether you've had your turn with the pinata or not.

A couple days later I'd cooled down enough to admit to myself that I'd probably overreacted just a touch, and that, in fact, I've probably done the same thing (of having a birthday party run overtime) at least once or twice in the past. (Not in 98 degree heat. But, still.)

  52. You know what makes me mad?

Ok so you know how if you make a purchase on a debit card they take the money out of your account THAT DAY? But heaven forbid they SCREW UP and have to credit you back after the transaction is complete because you have to wait up to !) FREAKIN DAYS for your money back... when it shouldn't have been taken in the first place!!!!!!
