And also, I seem to be fatter than I was yesterday. About 30 pounds fatter, to be specific. Mysterious.
And suddenly my clothes look very strange and even more unfashionable than usual. I usually have at least
Plus, my hair - ACK, what is it doing? And why does it look all bleachy today? It's usually extremely gorgeous and cool.
On a related note, I seem to have been struck dumb, and have no coherent or clever thoughts in my head at all.
I'm sure this all has nothing to do with having lunch today with some blog-friends I've never met before. Totally unrelated, I'm sure.
So, uh, if any of you happen to read this before we meet today, just keep in mind - I don't usually look like this. I'm usually much prettier, and thinner and more fashionable and more interesting. And less dorky. FAAAAR less dorky.
So NO JUDGING. Cuz usually, I'm a freakin' ROCK STAR.
LOL on the bad face day!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the header photo. Very cute.
You are meeting blog friends that are not me??????? I am going to go cry now in a corner somewhere...
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA I had that exact day 2 days ago when I met a blog friend. I wanted to yell -hey! this isn't the normal me. Usually I'm 20 lbs thinner and I have really great hair.
ReplyDeleteTurns out it didn't matter at all. We were friends because, well, we were already friends.
But I know whatcha mean.
10 to 1 you will forget all that stuff 5 minutes into lunch! have fun
ReplyDeleteOoh, yeah, I have those days. A little too often, actually....
ReplyDeleteSo far I've done two blogger meetups (one in Seattle, one in Provo), and I had similar days. Ended up laughing so hard I completely forgot it all. The last one? We stayed at the restaurant for -four- hours because we were having such a brilliant time. You'll be great!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I am a dork both in real life and on the blogs. And ya paid me back as I snorted pop through my nose.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a bad face, bad hair, bad clothes, bad body monthy/year. Not that I'm counting or anything.
Hope you have some fun!
Oooooh...who are you meeting? I'm curious. Do tell....
ReplyDeleteHeidi :)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has bad face days. Sometimes, stuff just doesn't seem to be lining up the way it should. I'm sure your blogger friends will love you anyway. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHave you hijacked my face, hair, and wardrobe? Cuz that's me you're talking about.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, hope your lunch was lots o fun!
Don't worry! You looked fabulous. Your face, hair, and clothes were all up to standard. It was great to meet you. Fun blog, I can't wait to read more, you'll be on my Google reader now!!
ReplyDeleteI suspect you look totally cute and together and are just being very hard on yourself. If we were to meet for lunch (What's halfway? Kansas?) I'm sure I'd come away from the lunch happy to have met you and a little envious at how cute and blonde and adorable you are.
ReplyDeleteWell, for the record, I thought you looked great. Now I know your excuse for hiding in the back for those pictures at the end. But I still got you...ha ha ha...I still got you! (I posted them too.)
ReplyDeleteI'm always intimidated by those blog lunch things. I love to go, but I feel like I have to perform or something--like Sue-donym said. It was fun to meet you, though. I'm glad you came.
I had fun meeting you today, and no worries. Your were neither tacky nor boring.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header!
ReplyDeleteyou looked fabulous. You were fabulous! I'm so glad I got to meet "funny sue".
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, if that was a bad face day for you then I need to go crawl in a hole. If you ever want to feel small and tiny just stand next to me, the jolly green amazon, and your self esteem will quickly be restored.
ReplyDeleteloving you even more now
Well, obviously you are a rawk star. No doubts here. I lurv you. And, I love the new header. I truly do. Your face doesn't look squishy at all.
ReplyDeleteKalli is totally lying, she's tall but thin and fabulous. And so funny! Kalli and Suedonym were cracking me up. It was fun to meet the women behind the blogs. Azucar, you are awesome for putting it together.
ReplyDeleteI was nervous, so I didn't have much to say, but it was still fun. I could have used a stiff drink probably, if only I drank.
Julie, please do not caption that photo identifying who each person is, because - aaack!!! I am in denial about having that many chins. Diet? So back on.
What! You're having a bloggy-lunch party! I think I'll cry into my pillow because I so want to meet you live and in person (and not in an obsessive, SWF creepy sort of way either.)
ReplyDeleteAt any rate, I demand pictures and a word-for-word relay. Go.
Oh my...the horrors!!! I'm sure you looked spectacular!! By the way, I'm terribly jealous of the blog friends you were able to meet!!!
ReplyDeletei have bad face day all the time. and it usually lasts for a week.
ReplyDeleteso i guess mine is bad face week.
Someday I will tell you about when I sort of stood up new blog friends twice because I was so insecure about meeting them.
ReplyDelete(OK to be fair, the first time I went early and left a card for the birthday girl and the second time it was only merely nearly standing up because although in my head I had convinced myself Wednesday was Tuesday, when they called me I did eventually show up.)
So I was bummed I couldn't go today and now I just read through the comments and discovered who all I missed.
ReplyDeleteI am now utterly and completely totally bummed.
Sounds like it was a blast. There's a post coming, right? RIGHT?
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are not fat.
Not even in your face.
You guys seriously, I am so underwhelming in person. You missed nothing. Well, that's not true, you missed Azucar and Kalli and Suedonym and Julie and Raquel and a bunch of other fun bloggers. But missing out on meeting me should not even register, because I was a mouse.
ReplyDeleteAZ - thanks for the LIES - proves you are a good friend :>
ReplyDeleteJustrandi, there won't be a post about it because it would just be like, "And then I sat there and didn't say anything. And then I laughed at ____. And then I sat there some more." Not all that interesting ;>
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I gain 30 lbs in one day. Seriously. How does that happen? It bugs me. And I totally get the whole "bad face" day. It happens to me, too. It's usually related to those 30 lbs.
ReplyDeleteA bad face day? Well, when you get to my age, tell me about it. I regularly look in the mirror and ask myself, "Who is that old lady? Surely not me!" If only it would just last one day and then I would go back to being the real wrinkle-less, bag-less me.
ReplyDeleteI loved your Christmas letter - where did it go? (I can still see it on Reader?) As always, terribly clever. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteYou ARE a total rockstar. I have a really hard time imagining you as socially awkward! I don't really believe it.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously bummed.
ReplyDeleteI picked up an extra shift to help cover the cost of Santa's arrival.
I didn't see any bad face, bad hair, bad anything chicks in the pics soooo were you behind the camera?
We gotta plan another one...
:( frown, grumble, wipe tears, grumble, frown, :(
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't notice, that was a palindrome. I wish I could have gone, even if I would have felt unstylish, frumpy, chubby, not very cool, etc, etc, etc. But I would have suffered it to meet you.
Hope you had fun! I have a lot of bad face days. Lucky for me I don't get a chance to look in the mirror very often, and when I do, I'm too blind to see how bad I look.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing just happened to me---gaining weight overnight! literally, yesterday, yesterday, I was 15 pounds lighter. I'm not kidding! there must be something in the water?
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great time with your "new" friends!
Yeah, what is with the puffy face? I HATE that. And then there is the slightly puffier area under one eye. I guess it's allergies, but it looks absolutely lovely when the light hits it just right and you look about 100 years old. Fabulous. Love those days.
ReplyDeleteTotally happens. It is not an imagined phenomenon - at least it's not in my house. It happens for a day - usually an important one. And is often gone later. Mysterious. But very real.
